The Line Between Love and Hate
Conference Paper2025
Abstract
This paper argues that Emily Brontë transforms the Byronic hero from an object of admiration into a warning against destructive romantic ideals. Through close readings of Byron and Wuthering Heights, it examines how Heathcliff critiques Victorian courtship and its enduring influence on modern culture.
